You're not just Mama's Boy

BorisPop: "Woodeedee Woodeedee Dinky Bee O Dinky Bee"........guarenteed to bring smiles/giggles to the surface.

BeeBao's Favorite Toy By Far!!!

It took Daddy forever to put it together but it was worth it. We had so much fun watching BeeBao play in it.

BorisPop: When going over to Mike/Hallie/Jonah's this weekend, they turned us onto Jonah's new ExcerSaucer.....they swore by it, in fact, that Jonah loves it, and highly recommended it. To me, it looked like strapping your baby into a toy box, and all i could help wondering was if they made them in mom and dad size too. We went the next day, and picked on up for Bee, and he of course, loves it. Half of the toys on deck are light and sounds type, and so when they are all blazing, he has a hard time focusing on what to play with, as its pretty much like being strapped into toy heaven, and all he can do is spin and discover. When we were sitting, enjoying watching his new bliss, Thuy leaned over and told me that she wants one. I wonder if EvenFlo makes special orders......?

Legend Of Thee Blue Monkey

BorisPop: "Blue Monkey", in our home, has a sacred meaning, as it means only one thing, and is only spoken of when that special time is at hand......when BeeBao takes his bath. Pictures of the Bee tend to give the slight illusion that he is a big kid, and even though he is taller than the average child his age, he is.......still quite small. small enough to enjoy the magic of the Blue Monkey in the kitchen sink (in his Blue Bathtub, given to us by our friend Norman, of "planet of the apes letter to Boris" fame). Like most babies, he is not exactlly sure what this whole ritual of sitting in water is all about, so he is not always the most excited about the actual process........but, the lead in.........the Blue Monkey song, and his beloved Blue Monkey robe make the experience the rich one it always is. When he wears his Blue Monkey robe, he seems to transform into his alter ego of the Blue Monkey, and Blue Monkey is the happiest critter on earth. The walk to the sink becomes a parade type ritual, as he has to show mommy that he has become the Blue Monkey, and this sparks his excitement as mommy no longer refers to him as BeeBao......he is, the Blue Monkey, and he loves to laugh and make the Blue Monkey faces and gestures (arms waving, with an ear to ear grin, toungue sticking forward, nose crinkled up, eyes squinting with eyebrows agressively arched). This makes us, as a family, laugh our butts off, till the bathing of the Blue Monkey begins........then things get serious. I picked up his first rubber ducky the other day, and that has now seemed to carry a bit of the Monkey attitude into the tub, and making bathtime more interesting for him. But once he gets out, and back into his robe......all bets are off, and the Monkey returns till bedtime.

BeeBao 4 Months Check Up/Milestones

Doctor said you are very very healthy. You weight 15lbs/10.5 oz and you are 105% taller than the average baby height, 27 1/4". All the hard work of tummy time finally paid off. You're now lifting your head up so high and looking all around the room, taking everything in. You can sit in your little tub when Daddy gives you a bath. You started eating solid food, baby cereal this week. Most of all you are smiling, giggling and laughing out loud! We are so proud of you!!! We even got all the pictures to prove it.

A PERFECT SATURDAY ON 070707

This morning Mommy and BeeBao literally got out of bed at 11am, and Dad had just came back from the gym feeling all energized. :) It was nice weather outside so he suggested on picking up some food and eating in the car, while driving around looking at houses for sale. We are just planting the seeds...we saw lots of nice houses that would be great for us to settled in. So Mommy sent out some positive energy and hoping we will get one by the end of the year. It feels good to dream and then one day reality kicks in...or should I say we planted the seed and a beautiful flower will bloom!!! Then we went to LaurelHurst Park. It was a great day. There were many people out. The three of us laid down under some shade of trees and looked up at them. It was sunny but wasn't too hot, and a cool breeze blew by every now and then. You love looking up at the trees as the branches and leaves dance with the wind. You giggle and make your adorable sound and we all laughed. It was a perfect moment. We were thirsty, thank goodness there was a lemonade stand near by. Actually we heard a voice from the park yelling out, "LEMONADE...COME GET SOME ICE COLD LEMONADE..." The little girl was happy that she sold us 4 cups of lemonade. We went home and in the evening and we went over to our neighbor Matt's house for a BBQ and a birthday party. It was fun watching you so engaged staring at his 2 dogs. Daddy gave BeeBao a bath and we put you to bed. Mommy ended up the day with going to the gym for almost 2 hours and Daddy played his XBOX. Now Mommy will shower and go to bed because we have company visiting us again tomorrow. YEAY! :)

from BorisPop:
Crystal Lite is soooooooo NOT lemonade.

HAAAAPPY 4th of BEEBAO

JULY 4th was BeeBao 4th month. Happy 4th month to BeeBao. We stayed home during the day because it was too hot for us to go outside. BeeBao does not like the heat too much. Who does right? We went to dinner at Pho Vans because it was the only restaurant that was open. Most stores and restaurants were closed. We drove around different neighborhoods and there were a lot of streets that were closed down for their block parties. Then we went over to Nat and Allison for their BBQ to say Hi.
This year we decided not to go and join the big crowd of firework festivities. BeeBao is really sensitive to loud booming noises. You'll enjoy it more next year.

from BorisPop: (to BeeBao)
today, you turned 4 months old. it seems like you have been in our lives for a lot longer. we are soooo lucky to have what we have in life, to be able to spend as much time with you, and watch you grow up. while other parents tell us that the time flies by, we have the gift of being able to be with you all the time, and watch you grow minute by minute. you are so sweet, such a little character, and so fun to be around, i dont know how i made it this far without you. when you are old enough to read this, be sure to come back and visit it when you are mad at me for throwing away any of the rap c.d.s you snuck into the house. know that i love you, and only want you to stay the happy person you were born as..........and thats why daddy will always protect you from the poo poo. i hope it helps in making you not stay mad at me.
happy 4th month, my little boy.

Last weekend...Sunday

Last Sunday we went to the Rose Garden(Portland is known for "The City of Roses"), and you were a little bored. So we weren't there long. After that we went to one of our favorite toy stores and galleries, named Compound Gallery. There you met Katsu the owner. He's a really cool guy. We always enjoy talking with him. We also went to Upper Playground store across the street, where we returned a tshirt Dad bought Mommy that didn't fit. They were cool enough to let us exchange eventhough we had no receipt. We ended buying ourselves some cool printed sweaters. Dad have the same sweater as Mommy now. We can be twins, I guess... We ended the day with going to our favorite Chinese restaraunt, PF ChingChang:).
We haven't found a good Chinese restaraunt in PDX yet. It was a great meal. It was a good day.

Last weekend...Saturday

Last Saturday we met up with our friend Brian McCarty(who is a great and well-known photographer) at the Platform International Animation Festival. We had fun meeting lots of people and you were the center of attention. We let you skip your bedtime and we went to the closing party, where you also saw your first live concert, Smoosh. But we didn't stay long. Before you we would come home in the morning. Hmmm...We had lots of fun though and met some cool people from Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

from BorisPop:
BeeBao has proven his social butterfly skills, in that he handles crowds, actually enjoys them, better than any examples we have read about in any of our "bringing up baby" type books. he engages people, smiles and tries to talk, and if they put a
finger near his mouth, it would be safe to say he would "latch on" to it. he really enjoyed our time at the fest, and meeting our friends, some old, some new. cant wait for next year, when he actually can appreciate some killer cartoons!
