Raaaa...raaaaaaaa

BorisPop: Other than our neighbors seeing your dad run around the neighborhood dressed like this, it was a good time.......ah, who cares.......it was a GREAT time. I was, however, very happy to return my tiger get up. yours is new, and you own it. Daddys
was rented and probably was made in 1935, or at least it smelled that way.

Mommy was a black cat...meeeoooowwwww....Max(Jack's bro) is so adorable.

BeeBao, you're always getting hugs from the girls. Anna gave you lots of hugs. Nava and Coco might get jealous!

Camille(Vampire Bee) and her mom Dina made the coolest Bee costume! Mommy wants one.

Jonah, the Spotted Dog.

WhatsInAName?

Time to put the origin of your name into writing, my boy. this thought comes to my mind, as we are in the midst of
October, which happens to be your daddy's favorite month. firstly, because it is the month where Halloween lives, but even more glowing, the month your mommy and I were married, just 4 years ago (on Halloween Eve, actually!).
your first name, Boris, has a significant meaning, and in this month, it is never more fitting. when i was little, not much older
than you are now, your grandmother and daddy had the bonding experience of watching old monster movies together on the weekends by day, and going to drive in theaters (you are missing out) by night. these are very special memories for daddy, and
of all monsters, i always loved Frankenstein. that admiration for the monster spilled into adulthood, and has racked up a rather large collection of Frankenstein toys (put away.....for now).
so when it came to "name our son" time.......i was excited that your mommy agreed (happily!) to name you Boris..........after Boris
Karloff, the actor who played the Frankenstein monster! i must say, years ago, your godfather, Jon, told me he thought Boris was a cool name for a son.......and i told him, if i have one first, Boris is mine!......lucky you, BeeBao.......heehee.
here is a shot of a print that our friend, artist mark "HedCheq" smith, sent to you, shortly after you were born. It is a painting of his of Boris Karloff and of course, we love it, but we think we have to wait a while to hang it where you wont be afraid of it!

So while you are named after someone who was most famous for being green, slow moving, groaning, flat headed, and and not so full of life...........you are none of those things. you are olive complected, fast on your feet, a fast talker, round headed, and carry enough life around in you for a handful of wayward souls......and to quote a friend of ours, you have "eyes like big, brown M&Ms"! you were simply named after something that daddy looks on as some of the best times of his life, and a symbol of something that has always made him smile.

now i will have to explain "BeeBao" to you, in another blog..........but lets wait till after Halloween for that, and enjoy your being
my little monster for now!

Daddy'sFavoriteWords

You are now 19 months old, and it is now obvious, that you have your father's gift
for tongue wagging. you also have the good grace to have your mommy's gift of choosing
your words wisely. i dont know if this is because you just dont have the largest arsenal of words
at your grasp yet, or if it is indeed, passed down from your mother.........but i can tell you, i love to
listen to you wether you are stringing along words that make sense to only you, or making your animal sounds
(which is getting us pretty close to good singalong attempts at "old macdonald"......who you actually call, "donald"),
or parroting words you hear through out the day, or just firing off your daily routine of words that you know by now,
results in actions you enjoy.
you now (FINALLY!), call your mother "momma" and "mommy"........and it is never said frivolously. it is always said with
a glow of affection and a primal pride in that she is YOUR mommy, and no one else's. it was around this time that you started
calling me "daddy" as well. you have been calling me "daddy" since new years eve this past year, but you also called the couch
daddy......and your fork......and a bookshelf......and your sneakers.......etc......
now, only I, am daddy.............and it melts my heart every time i hear it. but it even melted my heart when "daddy" was also the
kitchen sink. im a "soft touch".
you also know your name, which always gets mommy and i laughing when you say it, as you have your own spin.
you call yourself "Bah-Boo"........i figure if it sticks, its all yours!
here are some new-ish words you have recently brought into your vocabulary, and i can just listen to over and over....
1. my favorite........"Turtle"..........pronounced, by you......"Tur-tull".
2. "Bu-Bayum!".......said when you punch the wall, door, or your Diego doll in the face.
3. "Cro-Ca".........crocodile
4. "Ca-doo-doo"..........the sound a rooster makes
5. "Crow" and "Ahh! Ahh!"........in response to the many crows in our neighborhood........about the only thing you didnt call daddy as your universal word for anything you can see.
6. "Austin" and "Pablo".......your two favorite characters from the Backyardigans. you have a cousin named Austin, and im sure he is going to love reading this.
7. "Neigh-Neigh"........you know how to say horse, but i think you find it inappropriate for the animal, and would rather call it
what it says.
8. "Eee-nom-oh-nee-mi"........no idea, but awesome.
9. "Co-Co".......your girlfriend on 40th............and..............."Na-Va".........your girlfriend on 38th
10. "Connnne".........corn on the cob........easily, one of your favorite foods

i could go on and on........and i will later.
more experiences, more love, more joy.
in this life, im finally listening.

Pumpkin Patch

BeeBao and Hula Dancer

We went to one of our favorite local restaurants, Ohana Hawaiian Restaraunt. We love the food there. It reminds us of Hawaii. We will go there soon! We saw pretty girls hula dance. Camille(your favorite babysitter) even got up and dance. We had such a great time. You were dancing in your seat to the music and clapping for them.

You love Camille!!!
