Swift Watch

Every year in September many people go to Chapman Elementary School in Portland to watch thousand of birds flying in and out of the school chimney. The swifts gathered in the sky above the school and neighborhood about an hour before sunset. Then the birds circle above the sky and enter the chimney. This is as brief as I can describe it, but it was so amazing and beautiful to watch. We 3 had an great time. BeeBao was also entertained by many kids rolling down the hill and sliding on cardboards. This is just one of the many reasons why we love living in Portland. We can do so many things for free and live a very simple life. There are so many cool things we can't wait to experience with BeeBao. Our little family of 3.

BorisPop: if you would have told me just a few short years ago that watching thousands and thousands of little black birds swarming around and diving into an old smoke stack at an old school yard as the sun set, would be even remotely fun to do.......well...........
but.......it was. it was awesome, actually. and the Bee dug it too........even with his little brown eyes, he was tracking the cloud of birds flying over our heads, creating a liquid form that was actually, hipnotic, to just let yourself go, and abosorb. there were a ton of families, and all the kids were sliding down the grass hills on cardboard and sleds..........Bee watched this too, with real enthusiasm. im sure that this will be part of our ritual (the cardboard), wrapped up in this new ritual (the birds), in the years to come. as always, living here, it is very refreshing to see crowds of families, gathered around something so positive as an annual gathering of the these little dive bombing Swift birds..........where we come from, the only thing you see families swarm around are accidents (or someone getting a ticket.....flat tire.....etc......) on the freeway. sigh.........love the Swifts.

BEEBAO FIRST HAIRCUT

Today you got your first haircut. Most of your old baby hair has fallen off and your new hair is coming in. But you still had some long strands in different parts of your hair, and it made you look like you had a comb over. So Mommy and Daddy decided to give you a haircut today. Daddy was holding you still and distracting you while Mommy carefully trimmed your hair. Your hair looks a lot better now and no more comb over........just nice thick fuzziness!

You Made Daddy a Pirate!!!

BorisPop: on your 6th month bDay, you gave your Dad a gift........that was, a poke in the eye, followed by a drag of your fingernail across his eyeball. the next morning, Dr.Roth said it was the deepest, longest eyeball scratch he had seen this year!
now im sure, that this poke and drag was one of love.......as you gave it to me when you were hugging daddy. but i think moving forward, ill just take the hugs and giggles.........sometimes, love can be painful. but im sure this is the first of many love taps daddy will recieve from you. i have watched Americas Funniest Home Videos, and seen many a dad take a wiffle ball bat to the boinkers and things like that, from their loving sons.......so i have an idea of what is coming.
if this is what Daddy gets on Your birthday.......lets start skipping Daddy's birthday all together........and ill be sure to wear safety glasses (and a protective cup) on yours, from now on.
still, i love you more than ever, you and your razor sharp claws.
DaDa
p.s........Dr. Roth thought it was funny that all he had left to give me was a pink eye patch. did you two plan this?

HAPPY 6 Months BeeBao!

Happy Birthday our little baby boy! You are a half year old today. Wow!!! We have learn so much from each other these quick six months. We just got back from LA yesterday. You have your 6 months check up tomorrow so ...I will upload more pics tomorrow and let everyone know how great our plane ride was on the way back. You are amazing!!! We love you so much! More and more everyday!!!

BorisPop:
happy BeeDay BeeBao!
when you read this later in life, you will think that your M+D are nuts for celebrating your month BeeDays, but we are goofy like that. we have always celebrated milestones in our love for each other, and you, are our crowning acheivement in that love we share.........so consider it, part of whole package.
everyday, you blossum more and more into your own person, all the while, we see the bits of us in you. you are a warm, happy, fun, loving little boy, and we see great things in you now, and in your life path.........we will be here with you, to guide you through (as much as you will let us), and will never let you down. you are everything to us, and we dont go one day, without telling each other, at the end of the night, how much we love you, and how proud we are to be your M+D.
so.........halfway to 1 year old, and that means 6 months till Hawaii!.......we want you to spend your first real BeeDay on a white sand beach, with clear waters.............so your first trip to the beach, will be the real deal. but........im hoping for a slow 6 months, so i can watch you grow slowly. thats the best part, being here with you all the time, watching you grow.
i love you my baby boy!
