WhatsInAName?

Time to put the origin of your name into writing, my boy. this thought comes to my mind, as we are in the midst of
October, which happens to be your daddy's favorite month. firstly, because it is the month where Halloween lives, but even more glowing, the month your mommy and I were married, just 4 years ago (on Halloween Eve, actually!).
your first name, Boris, has a significant meaning, and in this month, it is never more fitting. when i was little, not much older
than you are now, your grandmother and daddy had the bonding experience of watching old monster movies together on the weekends by day, and going to drive in theaters (you are missing out) by night. these are very special memories for daddy, and
of all monsters, i always loved Frankenstein. that admiration for the monster spilled into adulthood, and has racked up a rather large collection of Frankenstein toys (put away.....for now).
so when it came to "name our son" time.......i was excited that your mommy agreed (happily!) to name you Boris..........after Boris
Karloff, the actor who played the Frankenstein monster! i must say, years ago, your godfather, Jon, told me he thought Boris was a cool name for a son.......and i told him, if i have one first, Boris is mine!......lucky you, BeeBao.......heehee.
here is a shot of a print that our friend, artist mark "HedCheq" smith, sent to you, shortly after you were born. It is a painting of his of Boris Karloff and of course, we love it, but we think we have to wait a while to hang it where you wont be afraid of it!

So while you are named after someone who was most famous for being green, slow moving, groaning, flat headed, and and not so full of life...........you are none of those things. you are olive complected, fast on your feet, a fast talker, round headed, and carry enough life around in you for a handful of wayward souls......and to quote a friend of ours, you have "eyes like big, brown M&Ms"! you were simply named after something that daddy looks on as some of the best times of his life, and a symbol of something that has always made him smile.

now i will have to explain "BeeBao" to you, in another blog..........but lets wait till after Halloween for that, and enjoy your being
my little monster for now!
